About me

I’m Suzy Glaskie, functional medicine health coach and founder of Peppermint Wellness. I’m also a recovering perfectionist and a formerly burnt-out PR boss.

Back when I was juggling a relentlessly stressful job with bringing up my three kids, my own wellbeing fell to the bottom of my very long to-do list. I was overwhelmed, exhausted and irritable. I regularly suffered from all sorts of weird ailments which, in my mission to “crack on” with work, I tried to ignore. Or I attempted to gloss over them with medication or make-up.

I now understand that these were signals from my poor, neglected body. They were my body’s way of telling me that I was harming it and that I needed to pay more attention to its needs. The irony was that, although I read a lot about health, I just couldn’t seem to apply what I read about wellness to my own life. And when I did manage to apply it, I couldn’t make it stick.

I’m happy to report that I’ve since transformed my own health and wellbeing. I feel a whole lot more vibrant and calmer in my 50s than I did in my 20s, 30s or 40s. I learned the hard way how to look after myself. My passion now is to share what I’ve learnt and empower you to feel better too.

I’M CRAZY BUSY. I’M WORRIED I WON’T HAVE TIME TO WATCH THE VIDEOS
I hear you! I know that life is super-busy and that you’re already feeling overstretched. That’s exactly why I’ve made the chapters bite-sized (mostly around 10 minutes long), so that you can easily slot them into your day. As the programme is self-paced, you’re not tied to any timings at all. You can follow the programme at your own pace, whatever time of day suits you, from wherever you are in the world. It’s a totally flexible programme that works around you and your schedule.
I’M JUST SO STRESSED THAT I CAN’T SEEM TO PRIORITISE MY OWN WELLBEING
One thing I’ve learned over many years of coaching hundreds of people is this: we can’t adopt healthier habits when we are in state of total stress and overwhelm. We just don’t have the headspace for it. If we’re using sugar to help take the edge of our stress levels, we can’t just take that crutch away. That’s why I have created a unique programme that begins with helping you to find your calm and your self-compassion. Once we have those as a foundation, it’s astonishing what changes we can make in our life.
I FIND IT REALLY DIFFICULT TO CHANGE HABITS. I’M WORRIED THIS WON’T BE ANY DIFFERENT AND THAT I’LL FAIL AGAIN
The beauty of Wellness Unwrapped is that it removes all the pressure to “succeed” at getting ourselves well (I think we’ve all had quite enough of that!). This programme is designed to help you to be kind yourself. It guides you to gradually take baby steps in the right direction. It’s about progress, not perfection. There is no pass or fail. Wellness Unwrapped is rooted in an in-depth understanding of how we human beings change our behaviour. Changing our lifestyle is a notoriously windy road with lots of ups and downs along the way – that’s why we need to be kind to ourselves rather than beating ourselves up every time we slip back into old habits.
HOW LONG SHOULD I TAKE TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAMME?
This is entirely up to you: it’s important to go at the pace that suits you and not worry about what anyone else is doing. A good guideline is six weeks but you can complete it in four weeks or four months if that works for you. It’s best not to rush through all the chapters, but to leave space for things to sink in. All the evidence shows that taking things slowly and gently is most effective in making changes stick for the long-term. That said, it’s useful to set a deadline for yourself so that you do make sure you get to the end of it.
DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING IN THE PROGRAMME TO EXPERIENCE A DIFFERENCE?

No. Most people will naturally focus on one or two things. These are enough to experience a tangible improvement in your wellbeing. You can always come back to the programme at a later date when you feel ready to add on another change. DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT?
No. Everything is done via the app on your phone (although you can also access the programme via a laptop or PC if you prefer).
I’M NOT VERY GOOD WITH TECHNOLOGY. IS IT HARD TO USE?
No, the app is super-simple to use. I’m also on hand at any point to help you if you have any issues with the technology.
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT ON HOW LONG I CAN TAKE TO DO THE PROGRAMME?
No. You will have ongoing access to the programme.
CAN I REPEAT THE PROGRAMME LATER ON?
Yes, you can do a refresher as many times as you like in the future.
I DON’T LIKE TRACKING MY HABITS – CAN I STILL USE THE PROGRAMME?
The habit trackers are entirely optional. Some people find it motivating to keep a visual record of their progress – and others don’t. You can make this programme your own and choose exactly what works for you.
I HAVE ZERO MOTIVATATION TO MAKE ANY CHANGES AT ALL. IS THIS PROGRAMME RIGHT FOR ME?

Because this programme is self-paced, it does require you to take some degree of action in watching the chapters and engaging with them. If you are not feeling able to do that, I would recommend one-to-one coaching with me to help you move forward.

I DON’T USE FACEBOOK – WILL I STILL BENEFIT?
Joining the private Wellness Unwrapped community on Facebook is not obligatory and you will absolutely still get all the benefit of the actual programme without it. Having the momentum of a community is a proven way to make positive changes, so it’s very useful to join. When we see others making positive changes, it gives us the motivation to do that too. You also get to benefit from cheerleading (both from myself and other like-minded people on the group). The impact of that is huge in keeping you motivated and excited about making changes. It’s worth bearing in mind that you can simply join the group and not use Facebook for anything else – you’ll only see the uplifting, supportive comments on the group, rather than all the other stuff on Facebook!
